I've spent almost a week now fighting a virus that came on after Blissdom. It's one of those moments where you knew you knew better...I've been pushing it for weeks with deadlines, sleep, and hard work, but in the middle of projects its hard to say "uhm, I need to take 2 days off to rest." However, like most things in life, if not properly taken care of, you end up spending more time in the long run.
Les is home. Thank God. He was flying in a week early to take care of our children as a surprise to me while I was in NYC. That was the plan. However the real surprise was I was too sick to go, so I am doubly blessed to have him home.
Bronchitis did indeed turn into pneumonia, but I think we're on the upswing. I keep telling myself that anyway. Working is very limited, mostly working on getting better. I have my mac in bed with me for emergencies and for information needed, but right now the task at hand is breathing without coughing. After 6 days of coughing, its a painful option.
I am so very thankful for a husband who comes in exhausted from Afghanistan and simply takes on the roles I usually handle. He has taken off two weeks to help at home, as was planned long ago, but instead of a short trip, we'll be staying in, thankful to be home...and healing.
The snow on our ground this morning reminds me that each day is fresh and new....washed in the blood of the lamb...and for that I am thankful.
