Which do I seek? It becomes all too easy in this life to slip into approval mode in daily life. God reminds me daily though that approval and "likeability" is not important to Him, but obedience is. Ouch. No one has to understand why we make the choices we make, no one else has to be at peace about the choices made.
It seems the world has the mentality of "an eye for an eye" while God continues to speak "turn the other cheek" in this generation. This last week we've had the opportunity to know up close and personal what it meant to feel the pain of obedience. Yet, despite its hardships, I'd prefer God's peace than popular's presence.
Tough stuff this loving God....but then again, I suspect some days loving me is tough stuff too.
Whose approval do you seek this day?
